Heliogravure Design & Prepress: From Design File to Print-Ready Artwork
The heliogravure design and prepress process at Tabriz Pack Printing Industries Group begins with receiving the customer's design file and the technical specifications of the order. If the customer does not have a ready-to-use design file, the required artwork is also developed by the Design Department. The technical specifications include final dimensions, printing substrate, packaging and lamination structure, sealing method, color requirements, printing method, adhesive type, repeat count, and other production requirements.
The design file is then carefully reviewed for dimensions, images, fonts, colors, layers, links, and technical printing requirements. Based on the specific requirements of the heliogravure printing process, the file is prepared by defining the Working Space, Guides, ICC Color Profile, Resolution, and other technical parameters.
Images are checked and, when necessary, retouched and optimized. Process Colors and Spot Colors are adjusted and separated according to the approved specifications. Key prepress parameters, including screen tones, Overprint, Trapping, color accuracy, and layout, are carefully controlled to ensure the highest level of accuracy and consistency in the final artwork.
The overall layout is then finalized according to the technical requirements of the order, with particular attention to dimensions, repeat arrangement, color specifications, and printing conditions. All elements are reviewed to ensure that the artwork is technically complete and ready for the next stage of production.
Through this integrated design and prepress workflow, the initial concept or customer-provided file is transformed into precise, production-ready artwork, providing a reliable foundation for high-quality, accurate, and consistent heliogravure printing.
